-In the last month, I've been on three trips: New York City (work-related), Florida (babymoon w/my hubby), and Minnesota (our annual trip). Other than a trip to my parents, I think that pretty much concludes my pre-baby travels.
-Our sonogram revealed that our baby is growing normally and appears to be healthy and is a GIRL! We're still debating the name (in other words, I've made up my mind and Matt is still on the fence.) Clara is very excited about her baby sister. She told me last week that the baby is ready to come out now. She kisses my tummy and talks to the baby--it's very sweet. For only being two, she seems to understand more than I thought she would.
-Clara is fully transitioned to sleeping in a twin bed (with bed rails). The first couple of weeks had a lot of tears, but she's now enjoying her new room and has decided she likes her "big girl bed." She now tells us that her baby sister will sleep in the baby bed. Two down (1. Weaning the binky, 2. Transition to new room and twin bed), one to go (3. Potty traning).
-Along with the new twin bed has come a new bad habit of Clara's. She takes both her pajama bottoms and her diaper off at night. We've been washing her sheets and blankets A LOT as you can imagine. Even a couple of books in her bed got a little wet. So far we've tried putting her diaper on backwards (fail), pull-ups (fail), many pleas and logical explanations asking her to keep her diaper on at night (fail), and tonight we used some duck tape on the diaper (verdict is still out on if this will be a success). I'm also going to order some one-piece pajamas that will hopefully alleviate this problem.
-We traveled to Minneapolis over the 4th of July for our annual trip to visit our college friends, Joe and Shawna. They have a baby due about a month before ours. The trip was fun, but way too short!
Clara & Cade
Between our two familes, there are three kids. Next year there will be five!
She just keeps growing and is turning in a little girl (although at 26 lbs. is still small for her age).
She continually impresses us with how fast she picks up on things. She's also starting talking almost constantly. The other day I was folding her laundry, and she narrated every piece of laundry in the basket!
Our car loaded down w/her new bed and furniture. She thought this was really funny, and told us that "Mommy's car looks silly!" I told her she was going to have to sleep outside on top of the car, and she was very excited about that. The inside of the car was filled with her new dresser, headboard and footboard. We're still not sure how we got all of this home in one trip.
-Matt and I took a week-long trip to Florida, and Clara stayed with my parents. We all had a great time, but we were very ready to see our little girl after being apart for a week! One of the mansions in West Palm.
Me on South Beach at 24 weeks.
We went to the beach everyday. This was the view from our beach chairs underneath our umbrella. Very relaxing!
