National Championship Game

The Jayhawks played in the National Championship Game last Monday evening. After some persuading, Matt convinced me we should watch the game at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence. We ate at one of our favorite college spots - Jade Garden. Food was every bit as good as we remembered and ten years later the prices are still the same! $4.50 for a plate of food - the two of us ate for $9.75. Gotta love college town prices!

It's hard to tell from this picture, but the lines to get in to the Fieldhouse were wrapped around the building and along the sidewalks outside.  The doors opened at 7pm and then the crowds just started running towards the door - so much for the line!

Nearly a packed house - we estimate about 14,000 of the 16,000 seats were filled.  We had season tickets for two years (pre-kiddos), and watching this game on the scoreboard was every bit as loud as the live games we've been to there.  At one point the crowd was chanting "DE-fense" and I had to point out to Matt that the team can't hear us!  It was an exciting environment watch the game in, and fun to get back to Lawrence and reminisce about our college days.

A big thanks to Matt's parents who had a late night at our house watching the girls!
Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
