Our weekend

We took our annual trip to Minneapolis this weekend to visit our college friends, Joe and Shawna, and their kiddos Eve and Cade. Clara did great in the car (more on that later). Below are pictures of our weekend. Not pictured are the fun things we did after all the kiddos were in bed! Grilling steaks, hamburgers, playing cards, margaritas, making smores over a campfire, and just relaxing.

Clara LOVES Dora and guess who we found at the Mall of America?! We walked up and Clara was pretty shy but right away she said, "Back pack!" (That's a key part of the show for you non-Dora watchers.) I showed Clara these pictures this evening, and she quietly said, "Dora!" She then started singing the "We did it!" song from the show and doing her little Dora dance.

We tried to get some pictures before we left today, but the kiddos were pretty tried. It was hard to say good-bye, and both Shawna and I teared up. It's hard to say goodbye since we only get to see them once a year! We had a great weekend, and it was so good to spend time with such good friends!
