It's hard to tell from the pictures, but Clara is after Elsie's toy here. Elsie grabbed the toy and is moving it away from Clara. It's entertaining to watch the two of them interact. Yesterday Clara kept going for Elsie's bone, and Elsie kept moving it. At one point Elsie took it out of Clara's hand. Elsie is so torn because she wants to be in the same room with all of us, but she also wants Clara to leave her alone.
Clara is on the move, pulling up, and gaining speed. She continues to be fearless. The little stinker hears me coming after her when she's on a mission, and she just starts crawling faster. She still doesn't like being told "no", but she's starting to accept it and understand what it means. It's amazing to watch her mind work. Grandma told her "no" when she was banging on the TV screen. Clara looked at her and started to do it again. When Grandma repeated the "no", Clara stopped. She's done this to me a couple of times as well, and I can tell she's testing me to see if I'm serious. There are a few things that are off limits and for which we tell her "no" - the lamp cords, blinds, and TV screen. These are the things that we can't move so we've decided she's going to have to learn to leave them alone.
Most everything else, as long as it won't hurt her, we let her explore. It's fun to watch her check things out. And bit tiring keep up with her! Thank goodness she takes naps.
I went shopping yesterday, and Clara was very intrigued by the bag I brought home. After checking it out, she decided to tunnel into it. Look at her left leg, it's through the handle, and her arm was through the other handle. Once she realized she couldn't get out, she was mad for the few seconds it took me to disentangle her. No need to worry, this entire adventure was supervised!
Clara "helping" as we put away groceries. Daddy, can I have some steak sauce on my eggs?
More "help" from Clara as we empty the dishwasher. Let's hope this interest in housework continues as she gets older!
