Dear Clara Lynn,
We can’t believe you are two months old! Feel free to start sleeping in longer stretches at any time. This month you seemed to go from 3 hour stretches to 2 hours. The 2 hour stretches are the tough ones. I’m sure you’re going to start sleeping longer anytime now. Sometimes I feel like I’m never going to sleep through the night again. I keep reminding myself that it can’t last forever, right?!
Your Grandparents sure do love you. You’ve been able to spend a lot of time with them this month. Both Grandparents have babysat you this month while your Daddy and I went out for some adult time. It’s nice to get out for a bit, but then we are so excited to see you when we get home! Your Grandpa Steve always calls you “Clara Lynn” and tells us when Clara needs “Grandpa time.” Grandpa time promptly ends when start crying or get fidgety. Then it turns into “Mommy time.” Grandma Marsha just can’t get enough of you and comes to visit us whenever she can. She’s also in the process of making you an adorable dress and headbands. Grandpa Terry & Grandma Karen bring cute baby things whenever they come over (including an adorable bunny coat to wear on Easter Sunday) and are convinced we ate the fastest dinner ever when they babysat you. They keep trying to get us to go out again so they can watch you again! They’ll probably have a whole evening itinerary lined up for us so we don’t come back too soon next time!
Your favorite thing this month seems to be the ocean play gym Great Grandma Oney gave you. It has a big blue whale attached to it that you love to stare at. You’ve also started looking into our eyes a lot more, especially when we feed you. It makes us feel very special. We’ve also starting reading books to you. You never seem to look at the pages, but hopefully you are still enjoying it! Your major accomplishment this month is rolling over from front to back, although it’s only happened twice now. You’ve also started giving us tiny little smiles every now and then. We can’t wait until you’re smiling more frequently, and we can’t wait to hear you laugh. We’re so excited to see you grow, but we have to keep reminding ourselves that all of those things will come quickly enough and we need to enjoy every day as it comes.
Lots of love,
Your Mommy
