Today we went for a follow-up appointment at the pediatricians office. Clara now weighs 6 lbs. 12.8 oz., which is an increase of about 3 oz. over where she was from last week, but she's still not back to her birth weight and is not gaining the 1 oz. per day they'd like her to be. So we're now adding a couple more steps to our routine. We're adding a bit of rice cereal to her bottles and giving her some medicine twice a day to help with reflux, which they think might be causing the problem. She does this adorable thing where you feed her about an ounce, and then she decides she doesn't want anymore so she puckers her lips together and refuses to let you put the bottle in her mouth. Well, I guess it's adorable the first time she does it, but it can get a little frustrating when you're trying to get her to eat! Apparently this behavior is a sign of reflux because she is really excited to eat the first bit but then when the reflux starts she doesn't want anymore. So we're hoping this helps! We have another follow-up appointment in a week. This picture is unrelated to the doctor's appointment, but I think it's cute.
